The Michigan Department of Education, Office of Great Start (OGS) has been working with contractors at Berry Dunn on reviewing the state’s four early childhood outcomes noted below.
- Children are born healthy.
- Children are healthy, thriving, and developmentally on track from birth to third grade.
- Children are developmentally ready to succeed in school at time of school entry.
- Children are prepared to succeed in fourth grade and beyond by reading proficiently by the end of third grade.
The Early Childhood Outcome 3 Indicator Validation survey is focused on proposed indicators specific to Outcome 3- Children are developmentally ready to succeed in school at time of school entry.
