Sharing from our partners at Tri-County Office on Aging
The Kinship Care Respite Program provides rest and relief for non-parent older adults (55+) who are raising a child 18 years or younger. Kinship caregivers 55 years of age or older who live in Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties are eligible to participate. The program is intended to assist senior caregivers caring for a child or children living in their homes that are eighteen years of age or younger. Financial assistance is offered to pay for technology (e.g. laptops, hotspots), bikes and bike helmets, bus tokens, back to school supplies, and clothes. The program can also help pay for before and after school programs, driver education courses, and camps; other opportunities might be available depending on circumstances and need.
