Sharing from our partners at Ingham Early Childhood Racial Equity Cohort
The Impact of Incarceration on Children, Families, and Communities
Tuesday, March 22nd
6:00 – 8:00 pm
This workshop is the fourth of five workshops highlighting racial equity strategies to promote and increase diverse and inclusive practices while decreasing systemic disparities in the early childhood system.
Communities of color; families experiencing the incarceration of a parent face a myriad of challenges. Through an equity lens, this workshop will provide an overview of the problem, discuss the impact on the health and well-being of children, families, and communities, and offer participants the opportunity to brainstorm and develop strategies and resources to best support the unique needs of this population.
This workshop aims to decrease systemic disparities in early childhood education by effectively building the skills needed to engage in hard conversations about race. Anyone can register for this free event. Registrants will be asked to create an account on miregistry. To register, click HERE.
